As a junior member of the team, you are often given instructions but your superiors. It’s important to know best practices for receiving instructions, so you can successfully complete your tasks.
In both cases – the sender should request and the receiver should insist on playing back if the sender doesn’t request it – of what the person heard to ensure no misunderstanding on the next steps.
