WHAT IS COMMUNICATION?

  • The process we use to interact with others and seek out information

INVOLVES SENDERS AND RECEIVERS OF INFORMATION

  • Senders code information into a message
  • Receivers decode the message to obtain the information

INFLUENCED BY EVERYTHING SURROUNDING THE INTERACTION

  • Noise is anything that interferes, at any stage, with the communication process
  • Noise cannot be completely avoided but can be managed

-Body language – approachable, aggressive

-Tone of voice – loud, soft, aggressive, passive
